Classification by corn ears

 

The Gites de France quality label guarantees you precise criteria of comfort, which are regularly validated by a classification according to a national charter.

Mini oven or spit, hotplates, pressure cooker, fridge, kitchen utensils, basic cleaning products, iron, high chair available on request, garden furniture, 1 shower room & toilet for up to 6 pers., second shower room for > 6 pers.*

In addition to the above equipment (1 ear of corn) you'll find a food mixer, an electric coffee maker, a washing in machine in gites > 6 pers., TV aerial plug, barbecue. Sheets towels & household linen are available on request*.

In addition to, or instead of the above, (2 ears of corn), you have a separate entrance, a private garden, an oven, a dishwasher, a washing machine (>5 pers.), colour TV, 2nd toilet >6 pers., cleaning option on request.

In addition to, or instead of the above, (3 ears of corn), you'll stay in a dwelling of character, set in an exceptional environment & with high quality interior furnishings & fittings, including a fireplace or wood burning stove, micro wave, fridge-freezer, dryer (>5 pers.).

 

* By special dispensation, some of this equipment or these services may not be available in certain gites. In such cases it will be clearly stated at the time of booking.

 

Your arrival

You'll be welcomed on your arrival by the gite owner or his/her representative.
Make sure you the inventory forms are completed on your arrival and at your departure (including  heating and electricity meter readings).


It is advisable to contact the gite owner by telephone prior to your arrival to fix the arrival time. He/she will also be able to advise you on how best to find the gite.

In the event of an early departure from the gite you should inform the owner.

 

Prices

These are indicated on each gite description sheet and correspond to the global rental cost of the gite.

This is the price of a week (from Saturday 4 pm to the following Saturday at 10 am), a weekend or sometimes a mid-week (from Monday 2 pm to Friday 12 am, outside school holidays). Following the classification, sheets and household linen as well as a cleaning option may be available on request.

 

Charges

Cold water, gas for cooking and electricity upto 8 kw/h per day are included. Over these quantities the surcharge is payable following consumption based on meter readings. Some gites offer all inclusive prices.

 

Pets

Pets should be mentioned at the time of making your initial booking must be indicated on the contract as the owners prior accord is obligatory.  You may have to pay an additional charge for pets in some gites.

 

Tourist tax

Some villages have introduced a tourist tax. Ask about it at the moment of booking. This tax should be paid to the gite owner following a sum fixed by the village, except if it is already included in the price.

 

Certificate of stay

Our services can issue a Certificate of stay on request, which proves you have stayed in approved accommodation. All written requests should be accompanied by a copy of the Gites de France rental contract.

 

Breakages guarentee, inventory

On your arrival and after the inventory, a breakages guarantee will be required ,the amount of which is indicated on the contract, (generally 305€  to be paid in cash or by eurocheque).  This will be returned after the check made before your departure (or within 8 days if this cannot de done before leaving) Cost of repairing any eventual damage will be retained if necessary.

 

Gites listed with agencies

Some of the accommodation figuring in our guide is previsionally pre-booked during certain periods by professional tour operators.

 

Capacity

The contract is established for an exact number of people If this number is exceeded either on arrival or afterwards the  gite owner can refuse any supplementary clients, break the rental agreement or impose a surcharge  calculated in proportion to the price and the maximum number of people allowed in the accommodation.

 

Holiday insurance

Civil liability: ask your insurance company to check that your contract covers any eventual damage you may be responsible for.

 

Litigation

No complaint will be taken into account unless it has been expressed in the three days following your arrival in the gite. The departmental office will intervene only if stay was the object of a Gîtes de France  contract. The list of accommodation is distributed is subject to modifications which may intervene after publication.

 

Telephone

A telephone symbol in the gite description indicates the presence of a telephone in the gite.

 

Holiday Vouchers

The Booking Service and the numerous owners whose gites are booked directly accept Cheque Vacances holiday voucher. We have used a symbol to indicate the gites which accept these vouchers. Other vouchers are also issued by the Caisse d'Allocations Familiales and are valid for stays in Gîtes de France approved accommodation.  Ask for information.

 

Swimming Pools

When staying in accommodation with a swimming pool a particular vigilance is required around the pool area especially when there are young children are concerned.

 

Heating

Heating is rarely included in the price of the location.  Further information concerning this should be mentioned on the rental contact and on the gites description sheet. Clients are advised to ask the owner for an estimation of daily price of heating.

 

Cleaning

Cleaning should be done by the clients during the stay and before leaving the gite. The gite should be left spotless. Some gites offer a cleaning option.
